The Israel Weapon Industries Negev Light Machine gun, it’s a 5.56 gas operated open bolt weapon, that was domestic designed and produced inside Israel since 1997. Negev machine guns serve as the IDF’s squad automatic weapon.

The Negev is perfect for covering these because its high volume of fire gives it the capability to destroy an incoming vehicles engine and stop it in its tracks. The Negev light machine gun is used to create what’s called “suppressing fire”. The Negev has a rate of fire at 1050 rounds per minute at its highest rate of fire that’s 17 bullets per second flying at 3,000 feet per second.
