Inverted chords are extremely useful. Working with inversions allows us to create better sounding progressions, since the bass is no longer stuck to jumping in parallel with the chord. This video explains the basic music theory of chords in first and second inversion, also called 63 and 64 chords respectively. In addition, we explore slash chord notation and 4 examples in full of how inversions can help us write more interesting and likable progressions.

The challenge for this track was to keep things from getting boring. Its only two chords (I - vi) with only two instances of the IV chord. I had to rely on timbre, dynamics, and call+response style arrangements to keep the track interesting without losing its chill/relax vibe.
The only reason I can teach how to write music is because I write music, I need to keep writing so I can be a better teacher =]

After the WEIRD INTRO this video goes through the basics of polymeter, where you can hear it, and how you can write with it. Deeply complicated rhythmic layers can easily develop when you write polymetrically, and open up whole new universes of songwriting and composition.
