Bluestream and CORROSION companies have developed a new method for installing ICCP (Impressed Current Cathodic Protection) anodes, known as the ICCP-SAM (Subsea Assembly Method). This innovative approach is specifically designed to remotely install ICCP anodes on monopile foundations of all sizes, even in challenging ocean conditions.
The ICCP-SAM system is highly compact and can be transported and deployed with minimal resources from the topside of the offshore foundation. The method involves remotely maneuvering the anode underwater into the designated foundation entry hole, where it is then secured using the same tool. This eliminates the need for diving operations, significantly reducing both the risk and cost associated with traditional installation methods.
One of the key benefits of the ICCP-SAM is that anodes can be replaced in the same manner throughout the foundation's lifespan, enhancing the sustainability and maintenance efficiency of offshore wind farms.
