If I had to learn music production from scratch again, I would do if differently to ensure I learn things quicker, have a stronger profile and grow quicker. I would learn things systematically, keeping in mind the long term success and avoid shortcuts and avoid the noise in this space about learning.
When I look back over my experience of over 25 years in the industry, I would take the steps below:
00:00 - Introduction
00:57 - Sorting my mindset (force multiplier)
04:34 - Choosing the right DAW (then sticking to it)
05:46 - Focussing on one genre sooner
06:36 - Learn music theory and fundamentals
07:32 - Collate samples and presets (1 day)
08:43 - Embrace copying and reverse engineering
09:59 - Learn my stock plugins inside out
11:01 - Avoid the noise
12:05 - Seek mentorship
13:03 - Learn the industry
14:18 - 12 steps to music production success
