Gather around the fire for another extract of Spiveynian woe! Unfortunately, Trollope hasn’t quite startled me to the extent that he usually does. I don’t think his prolific nature helps him when we’re faced with a thoroughly average novel whose deletion might well have been to the good of himself and his surrounding family!
