In this video, I walk through how I use paint brushes to gently lift charcoal and create lighter values and soft textures—specifically in an elephant ear.

I also explain the different types of brushes I use and how each one helps achieve subtle shifts in value without losing realism.

This technique is one of my favorite ways to add depth and life to hyper-realistic charcoal drawings.
