The one thing that changed how I approach making art the most.

It seems counterintuitive or counterproductive but it worked wonders for me.

I took an “inspiration fast”. I stopped looking at other art for 4 months. And it changed so much for me.

I feel more free in my own process. I don’t compare myself to others like I used to.

It allowed me to explore who I am as an artist and what truly matters to me. Without worrying about what everyone else is doing.

I feel my style is beginning to emerge. I learned so much through this entire process.

I rarely look at other art anymore. And when I do, I see it differently than I used to. No more comparing. No more wishing to be like them or create like them.

I feel like my own artist for the first time.
