Take a peek into my process of making digital collages in Procreate. It's actually quite easy thanks to the iOS "Lift Subject" feature. From the Photos or Preview app, long press on a subject in a photo to lift it from the background, then you can drag and drop it right into Procreate! Be warned, it doesn't always work, so you may have to manually cut out some subjects right in Procreate using the selection tool.
You can find lots of free-to-use stock photos from sites like:

I think it's the illustrated details that really bring these collages to life. Be sure to embrace whimsy and keep adding as much as you can think of!
