In The Return of Nagash, one of the most iconic novels from the End Times saga, Manfred plays a crucial role. As the world of Warhammer teeters on the brink of destruction, Manfred joins forces — reluctantly — with Arkhan the Black to resurrect the Great Necromancer, Nagash. Yet, true to his nature, Manfred’s loyalty is driven by ambition, not faith. His actions in the novel show his cunning mind, his fear of being overshadowed, and his constant struggle between servitude and supremacy.
