I know many people like Malaysian trumpet snails, ramshorn snails, and bladder snails in their aquariums, but I personally don’t like keeping anything that breeds out of control and obstructs my view of the front glass. In the past, I conducted many experiments on using plant dips like bleach and alum, but I’ve finally settled on 5 methods that are easy, cheap, and free of dangerous chemicals. Using a combination of these techniques, I’ve successfully kept my aquariums 100% free of pest snails for almost a decade. I spent a lot of time testing the last method called “reverse respiration” and I highly recommend that you try it out!
