Why do people do this? Why did I do this? Why would I even want this person to come back after what they did to me?

I, like you, judged myself and thought,
“I must be pretty weak to even think this after everything he did to me.”

I wouldn’t even tell anyone I had the thought because who would even think this after what their ex put them through?

But here I was, having these annoying thoughts.

What I didn’t realize was I had just experienced something traumatic.
And this is the aftermath.

This is what trauma looks like when you’re trying to overcome what you’ve been through. It doesn’t make sense. It’s messy.
It’s not pretty.

Here’s to all the people still having the “what if” thoughts, knowing deep down nothing will ever change.

Here’s to the people stuck in those loops, silently judging themselves for having them.
