The Novel Nana | How I develop my characters pt.1 in a 3 part series @TheNovelNana | Uploaded June 2020 | Updated October 2024, 9 hours ago.
In this video, I share with you my 4 step process. I use this method when developing characters for my books. I will go in-depth on my process, and this is the first video in the whiteboard video series on character development. In this video, I give examples of initial conception of characters, and the questions I use to determine who my characters are and what role they will play in my story. I then move on to the 2nd step in my process, which is what I call the skeletal/or barebones of my character, and provide examples of what things I like to know, about them so I can move on in the development stages and my process. I will briefly touch on the final two steps of this method, which are the fleshing out and "clothing" of my characters. These steps will have their own videos, in this series, where I give more detail on the types of things I look at when forming my characters, and what questions I like to get the answers to, which help me form well rounded, fully fleshed and developed characters. I hope you will enjoy this video and the two videos to follow that will complete this series. Thanks for watching it.
