Gurvan Makes | How I Changed my Brake Rotors and Pads on my Nissan Frontier V6 4x4 1999 @GurvanCustom | Uploaded July 2020 | Updated October 2024, 5 hours ago.
IMPORTANT UPDATE: When replacing bearings, new or used and repacked, you MUST torque them into place, this is called pre-loading, and need a special tool to torque and compress the bearing at a specific spec... then back off to zero... then retorque a "hair"... make sure you find out the right torque for your wheel bearings.
In this video I was not aware of it and did NOT do it... so BEWARE. my bearings did last 4 years but still... it should be done. I will make a video and update when I do it properly soon.
My Pickup Nissan frontier 1999 V6 4x4 needed urgently some new rotors and pads on the front end, so I finally came about to do it myself.
You'll need wrenches, especially a torque adjustable one but also grease rated for wheel bearings and drive trains, you'll need a can of Brake clean, as well as a snap ring tool. The rest are basic tools, screwdrivers, towels and jacks.
Dive in with me in this task that can save you a couple hundred bucks..!
Although, this is my first time doing this so this is not a reliable tutorial video :)
The Front Wheels Bearings:
