Hello Curious Human! On this Part one of my own Tiny House Build, we will be starting from a rough UBuilt trailer I found for 2000$ cnd nearby. I spent about two weeks to clean, repair, repaint, and weld reinforcements for my floor and walls.
Built with double studded walls (!) yes you read that right..! I attempted a couple unusual approaches to have better thermal efficiency, it sure has been challenging to adapt my project half way from being solely my day office and studio to my entire house... with now wood stove, toilet and soon, bathtub and shower! (part 3 soon). Construction of a full house surely need more planning ideally so this build as been slow... but as I refine all the systems for myself I hope to offer very efficient and lovely to live, all included design, kitchen, heating, water system, appliances, a real little cabin you can afford and move without compromises for healthy living, freedom and right to own your own nest!
On this mini documentary I will be finishing with the diy install of a Senville 9000 btu mini split, a budget, but very worth it! Tricky install... not for everyone! Need to deal with bending, cutting, flaring, sealing copper pipes under very high pressure, clean those lines with a vacuum pump and buy other special tools... BUT, finding an installer is sometimes impossible.
Overall materials and most appliances costs came to roughly 17 000$ cnd in 2020.
Building a Tiny House for under 20k is therefore surely doable is you get ready to put some elbow grease of course, and find materials, deals, have tools or borrow, find free help in many ways if you need to and don't forget good ol' trades !
On the last video, Part 3 of this Build coming end of January hopefully... I will be done with the Loft furniture, the bathtub, shower and couch unit, the wood stove corner and well hopefully all or 99% of it all...!
