On this Saturday, I decided I was going to try and attend four different car shows in one day. The most I had ever done before was two car shows in one day, so I wasn't sure if I was up to the task or not, or if it was even possible. How did I pull it off? Watch the video and find out!
1. Cars & Coffee at Life Church in Olathe, Kansas
2. Caffeine & Chrome at Gateway Classic Cars in Olathe, Kansas
3. Pirates Of The Tarmac Car Show at Indian Motorcycle in Olathe, Kansas
4. Mid America Club Car Show at Embassy Suites in Olathe, Kansas
I was determined to get a good spot at the first morning car show, I woke at 6:20 AM, got ready and headed out to the Life Church Cars & Coffee, 8:00 AM - 10:00 AM. I arrived on the scene at about 7:10 AM, and was the 10th car to show up early. About 7:25 AM, the cars started rolling into the parking lot, and it was practically full by 7:45 AM.
Next up was Gateway Classic Cars Caffeine & Chrome, so I left the Cars & Coffee about 10:00 AM and headed west. Gateways even runs 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM. They had a decent turnout there, with a Corvette club taking up most of the side lot. I also took a walk through their warehouse, full of consignment cars for sale.
After another cup of coffee there, I decided to hit the next car show on my list: Indian Motorcycle, which was having an even labeled "Pirates Of The Tarmac Car Show", which was located off South Lone Elm Road in Olathe, Kansas also. I arrived there approximately 11:00 AM, and checked out their motorcycles and Cam-Ams. not many cars showed up for their car show, which was from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM.
Then I haded to my fourth and last even on my list; a Mid America Club Car Show at the Olathe Embassy Suites off Ridgeview Road. Once I arrived there at about 12:00 OM noon, I checked out all the Chevelle's and El Camino's on display there. I was pretty tired by about 12:40 PM, so I decided it was time to call it a day and head back home. I made it back by 1:00 PM. I believe 6 hours worth of car shows in one day was about enough.
The main car show I initially was going to attend, The Sallas Auto Car Show, I wasn't able to make it to, which was held over on the Missouri side, 9:00 AM to 12:30 PM. It was just too far out of the way, simultaneously with the other ones. If it was scheduled for a little later in the day, I might hav been able to do 5 cars shows total. But maybe I'll tackle that for another Saturday.
