How high does Simone Biles jump? How fast does her body rotate? What’s her takeoff velocity? A physics nerd takes a look as her floor routine to find out. Astra applies a Kinematic Equation to every move of Simone Biles' 2021 Olympic Trials floor routine to determine her takeoff velocity and her maximum height. We also calculated her flipping and twisting angular velocities as a fun bonus. After all that math you deserve some physical comedy, so Astra attempted to replicate Biles' routine.
