How guitar players keep getting better has nothing to do with talent. As a guitarist who’s been playing for over 50 years, I’ve learned the players who improve consistently are the ones who constantly identify weaknesses in their playing and work on them one at a time.

In this lesson, I explain how guitar players keep getting better by using continuous improvement:
• Find the area that needs work
• Focus on improving that skill
• Then move to the next weak spot
• Repeat the process over and over

That’s how you avoid hitting a guitar plateau and keep making real progress long term.

Most guitar players practice what they already know. The players who improve keep attacking the things they can’t do yet.
