How does FOX Sports keep search relevant when sports news changes every minute?

FOX Sports rebuilt its search on Databricks using real-time data, vector embeddings, semantic search, and AI.

Articles, videos, players, teams, searches, and clicks are continuously processed to keep the search index fresh and identify what’s trending. Content is converted into embeddings and synced to a vector search index, while time-weighted semantic search prioritizes both relevance and recency. Databricks Model Serving then reranks the results before they reach the fan.
