When Team Rubicon Greyshirt volunteers respond to a disaster, every minute matters.
Loading, unloading, and organizing equipment can take valuable time that could be spent helping communities recover. Ford Philanthropy, Team Rubicon, and GRIDRACK™ set out to find a better way.
Working directly with Greyshirts, Ford engineers designed, tested, and refined a custom Ford Transit around how volunteers actually work. The result is a modular system Team Rubicon expects to save volunteers about two hours each day — time that can go back to serving communities, regrouping and preparing to do it all again.
