In the first part of the video I handcrafted a new broom from materials that I lovingly sourced from my childhood home - each branch chosen with purpose to craft a besom of birch, willow, and ash (of course the native willow and birch that grows in my area).
The birch was bound to the ash branch by the willow that I soaked overnight in water and then I gave it a little trim and set it to dry

video on how to make them:

Chamomile Milk
1 cup milk
3 chamomile tea bags or that much worth of loose leaf chamomile
Cake
1 2/3 cups cake flower
1 cup of sugar
1/4 tsp baking soda
1 1/2 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp salt
3/4 cup butter (melted)
3 egg whites (room temp)
1 Tbsp vanilla extract
1/2 cup sour cream
1/2 cup chamomile milk
To make:
Heat the milk and bring to a very low boil then take it off the heat and add in the chamomile flowers - let steep for 5 minutes
combine all the dry ingredients in a bowl and set aside
then in a separate bowl combine the wet ingredients
pour the wet into the dry and give it a good mix then pour into a sugared mini bunt pan (alternatively you could make these into cupcakes)
Bake at 350 degrees for 18 - 20 minutes

Anti-Anxiety Salve
video on how to make it:
youtu.be/VpBYg6I2YvY

Salve
1 cup of olive oil (or other oil of choice)
1 ounce of beeswax (if you are using another oil and it is solid at room temperature cut down on the amount of beeswax used)
small scoup of coconut oil (optional)
lavender - for peace
chamomile - for calm
lemon - for purification and happiness
To make:
add a good scoop of each herb into a jar along with the oil
Then add the jar to a pot of water and let in boil in this double boiler situation for up to 6 hours ( can be less if need be but at least get a good 3 hours in there)
-visit it every once in a while to give it a little stir
Once the time has passed pull it off the heat and let the herbs sit in the oil to infuse overnight
the next day bring the oil back to a pot of water however this time adding another jar with the beeswax in it. Here we are working to melt the beeswax and bring the oil up to temperature.
Once the beeswax is melted and the oil is appropriately hot, strain the oil into the beeswax and give it a good mix. This is when you can choose to add essential oils if you so choose or if you wish to opt out of that just add in the coconut oil here.
Then pour it out into a heat safe container and wait for it to cool
Once it's cool it's ready for use! Just rub it into your hand and if needed down your forehead anytime you are feeling anxious.

Raspberry Thyme Vinegar
1 1/2 cup raspberries
a few sprigs of thyme
3 cups of a vinegar of your choosing (though for this I would recommend white wine)
1/2 cup of sugar
To Make:
Rinse the berries then set aside. In a saucepan, combine the vinegar and sugar and without bringing it to a boil stir until the sugar is dissolved
Place berries into a sealable jar and add in a few sprigs of thyme
Pour the vinegar and sugar mixture over the berries then cover the jar tightly and let stand at room temperature for 48 hours.
After the 48 hours have passed strain the vinegar through several layers of cheesecloth or a towel into a sterilized bottle or jar. seal tightly with a lid and then store in a cool dark place
Use this on anything you would regularly use vinegar in in your kitchen!

Mint Honey
video detailing the faster infusion method:
youtu.be/3nIAIc2q3xg
Ingredients
A handful of dried mint (2-3 Tbs)
1 cup of honey
To Make:
Pour the herbs into the bottom of a clean glass jar (optional crush with a spoon) then add the honey to the jar and stir to combine the mint into the honey
Cover the jar with a lid and let stand and infuse for 3-4 weeks turning the jar over every few days to aid in the infusion process
Once the time is up strain out the herbs through a fine mesh strainer and then store the honey in a lidded jar
Use anywhere you would regularly use honey such as in your tea!
