If your climbing gym has an app or leaderboard to log your climbs, you might no all too well how fun and addictive the gamification of climbing can be.
When recently, I returned to local indoor climbing gym after living in Sheffield for a year, I was reunited with an app that the gym uses as a virtual leaderboard. It got me thinking, with tactical climbing approach, how far might it be possible to climb on my gyms leaderboard in a session? To get a score to submit to Toplogger, I’d need to climb at least 10 boulders in the session.
Using a smart approach to picking the boulders that suited me, I targeted the highest points available across 10 hard problems to see where I could place.
