I never got to share some of the work I did on Elemental. This was my first shot on the project where I got to really explore all the possibilities of using Ember. For this shot my goal was to fake the wind effect on her body that’s essentially made up of fire. Side note: Watching the team fake the element-ness on these characters were probably the most inspiring thing to watch on this show. There were so many attributes and translation/rotation I had to fiddle with to get it look good in render. I also had to deform a lot of her face/body when she pushed her head into the window to make it feel like she was really melting/pushing into the glass.
