This episode of Weird Weapons features the Mangual or two handed chain flail. Used extensively in Spain and Portugal from around 1400 -1650.
I make weapons but am not so good at using them. Matt Easton doesn't make weapons but is amazing at using them. Seemed like the perfect opportunity for me to make some obscure weapons from the medieval and renaissance periods and for Matt to test them out.
Firstly its fun, but we also learn lots about what the weapons can and can't do, how to use them, why they were made like they were and sometimes we are just left wondering what was the point.
