In this episode of Earth Machine, we drain the world’s oceans to reveal a landscape of 17km high volcanoes, canyons that dwarf the Grand Canyon, and the "Earth Machine" driven by a metal core as hot as the sun. We follow the daring crew of the Wave Sentinel as they race to repair the world's fiber-optic nervous system 4km deep, and revisit the 1960 mission where two men faced 200,000 tons of pressure to reach the deepest point on the planet.
