The Maxwell Torpedo Puzzle was a present Tim received from the late Gary Foshee, a famous collector and designer of puzzles. A collection of apparently random pieces, and the instructions are simply together and make a torpedo with a high speed spinning propeller. Tim demonstrates how it is done...
BTW Gary gave a talk at a Gathering for Gardner convention back in 2010. It consisted of only three sentences - 'I have two children. One is a boy born on a Tuesday. What is the probability I have two boys?' A deck of cards from Texas - clearly this deck got caught in a gunfight, and the cards all have bullet holes in them!
