Two strings. One very specific kind of low end.
This is a demo of Eastwood’s Sandman Deluxe — the licensed recreation of Mark Sandman’s modified Premier Multivox Scroll Bass, built from measurements of his own instrument and developed with his estate.
Sandman stripped a vintage scroll bass down to two strings, split a P-style pickup across neck and bridge, and wrote Morphine’s hypnotic, sax-and-bass sound around tunings like D–A and C–G. The Deluxe is the closest production version of that instrument: original 34" scale, authentic body shape, inlaid scroll on the upper horn, bound streaked ebony veneer, and D’Addario Chrome flatwounds set up D–A out of the box — ready for fretted playing or slide.
