I was chatting to a friend last week, and it turns out she's doing a book coaching accreditation and has an assignment where she needs to critique a completed manuscript. Then she asked me - did I have a complete draft she could review?

My mind immediately went to Powerless - my 75,000-word YA book where superheros meet the Russian mafia. 6 months since I got my beta reader feedback, and I was so excited to get back into it!

But where does that leave my current writing work in progress - my Fantasy Hot Mess? Here I talk about the factors that helped me decide to focus on putting that book on hold so I can prepare Powerless for a book coach.
