I recently got a question about homesteading with littles if your husband works full time…
Back in the day when we lived on our quarter acre in town, I still had a large garden and backyard chickens.
The key is containment for the littles while you tend to the chickens (which doesn’t take much time at all, and they love to watch!) Strollers and babywearing are key.
As for the garden, in the summer it’s best to garden in the morning so the baby doesn’t get too hot. You really don’t even need more than two hours a day to manage both the garden and chickens! Even two hours is a lot more than is probably necessary.
With a milk cow, things do get a little tricker but it’s still doable.
Work in small doses - which can be applied to anything in the home with kids 😉
