We just finished a ground-up restoration of this 1955 Vincent Black Shadow Series D. This model is the last of the legendary Black Shadows before the company ceased manufacturing a week before Christmas Day 1955. The Vincent is the first true 110mph super bike. As far as owner Philip Vincent was concerned, the Series D was his finest design. Only 460 Series D twins were built, and only 142 of those were Black Shadows. This motorcycle is one of 142! That is how you define rare. We also installed an electric start kit on this Vincent, which they obviously did not have in the mid 50s. Makes it much easier to start and enjoy the ride.
