UKRI Stories | How do we reduce emissions from our food system? New technologies are showing the way @UKResearchandInnovation | Uploaded November 2021 | Updated October 2024, 1 hour ago.
We're finding ways to reduce carbon in everything we do. Transforming how we produce, consume and discard food is part of that.

Our research and innovation is transforming the agricultural and food production sectors. We're helping develop vertical farms, so that fruit and vegetables can be grown in urban areas without daylight and with fewer resources.

Precision technologies like robotics, sensors and data analytics will make our food production system smarter and greener, and we're finding new protein sources like lab-grown meat and insects to reduce the environmental impact of farming.

These are just some examples of how we are helping the switch to a more efficient and sustainable way of feeding the country, watch the video to find out more.
