One of my coaching girls told me that writing good emails was one of the most frustrating things she had to do.
She had to send regular emails directly to the CEO…
… and her manager insisted on checking each and every one. And sometimes she’d even come over, stand over her desk (not even sit!) at her desk and actually RE-WRITE IT ON HER LAPTOP.
Can you imagine the sense of shame?
You’ve learned English, I mean, you WORK IN THE FUCKING LANGUAGE!
But there you are...
… sitting to the side of your own desk…
… while your manager fixes your email for you…
… sucks, right?
Another one of my MEFA members said that to avoid making mistakes she has to check several times (normally googling stuff) or rely on colleagues’ preliminary review before sending stuff out. Both take stupid amounts of time and aren't even very effective.
The solution is simple:
Get really, really good at using English.
The MEF Accelerator course is primarily about speaking confidently and without hesitation in whatever situations you use it.
But everything you'll do in the course is just as relevant to correspondence emails.
