How Do I Replace My Laptop Battery A Step By Step Guide
In this video I’m going to be swapping out a bulging battery on a Dell Latitude 5500 Laptop using my step-by-step guide so that you can follow in the video.
I show close-ups of how to do the battery swap, explain what causes batteries to bulge, and test the system afterwards to verify everything is working. NOTE: this process will be similar for most makes of laptops, Dell, HP, Lenovo.

00:00 Tools required to swap out laptop batteries, and the signs that your laptop may need a battery changed or replaced.
01:39 Step One, verify that that laptop if completely powered off and unplugged, then turn it over to begin.
02:02 Step Two, Three, Four, Five and Six. Remove the screws from the back laptop cover, remove the cover, remove the old battery, install the new battery, and then re-install the laptop cover.
09:31 Step Seven, power on the laptop to verify everything is coming on and that the new battery is showing up and charging. Also verify the case is snapped together and bulge is gone.
