The fish in question is the pufferfish, an invasive species that entered the Mediterranean from the Red Sea via the Suez Canal. Its spread has become such a serious problem that the Greek government is now subsidising its removal, offering professional fishermen up to €5.33 per kilogram of pufferfish they catch and deliver.
