China's Keping thrust belt produces awesome exposures of multi-colored sedimentary rocks where they are upturned and eroded above thrust faults. I made a simple sandbox model that illustrates the underlying structures that produce the belts of colored rock exposed in the real-life mountains. The model shown in the video was "eroded" (carved) in detail after it was gelled and partially dried.
