How Dark Souls 3 Speedrunners SMASH Champion’s Gravetender

NPC Bosses are some of the most tedious bosses to deal with in Dark Souls 3 speedruns but thanks to a newer skip, speedrunners have found a way to literally get the drop on Champion's Gravetender.

As the boss is locked in his stand up animation you are able to get a couple free hits before starting a combo that stun locks him for the start of the fight.

This combo when aimed correctly will also deal with the wolf that spawns in shortly after you start the fight.

Ideally the boss should backstep and do his phase change animation but that doesn't always immediately happen.

For a short window of time the same combo we open with will work to finish the first enemy and the small wolves can be dealt with quite quickly.

This gives a little bit of time to apply a damage buff as the great wolf approaches.

In the most favorable situation you will trade with the double bite attack and trigger the wolf's second phase. Because the damage is very high the wolf should be finished off before even attacking in it's second phase.
