How Cobra Kai Season 6 Ruined Kenny

After watching Season 6 and even rewatching season 4 and 5, I just now only begin to realize how bad the writers massacred my goat Kenny. John count your god damn days because WHAT were you thinking for giving Kenny a brown belt instead of a spot for the Sekkai Tekkai. Before I even start ranting, let me breakdown where Kenny was before this season. Kenny was first introduced as this nice kid who really meant no harm to anyone, which as we know in any show with drama, this is bully material #1. And who better to use this material than the son of Daniel Larusso. Yeah, the karate kid's son is now bullying kids. This eventually leads into him deciding to join cobra kai in order to gain some control in his life, and he’d find none other than Robby, who not only went to juvie with his brother, but even applied the same mentality Kenny is now applying but back in juvie. Kenny would channel all this anger and convert it into strength, leading into him gaining confidence along with some cool friends. But due to being in the middle of a karate war, even being affiliated with the dojo puts a target on his back, and this kinda shifts Hawk back into a bully role. This would push Robby and Hawks rivalry in this season, with Kenny also getting some type of comeback with shaving Hawks head, along with Kenny getting the jump on Anthony in the library. So far, Cobra Kai has been the one consistently good thing in his life, which unfortunately means it’s very likely for him to be steered down the wrong path, which unfortunately is the case. All this anger and rage he’d been building up would start to control him, leading into him lashing out in the middle of the All Valley against Lapusso, showing that Kenny has changed for the worse. He’d say Anthony’s only beginning to feel a world of pain, before then cheering for Robby to defeat Hawk and show no mercy. This is what ultimately keeps Robby from getting the point, as he’s tired of letting hate consume his life, and he doesn’t want that for Kenny. With that said, Robby would leave Cobra Kai and try to get Kenny to also do the same thing, as he doesn’t want him to get brainwashed. But due to Robby leaving so suddenly, especially after their all valley win, Kenny believes Robby is betraying him. Which I mean he has every right to, he was the one encouraging Kenny to join and now all of a sudden he wants to leave? Kenny being in Cobra Kai sees this as a weakness, and with Robby gone, Cobra Kai needs a new power house. Which leads into none other than Terry Silver himself taking him under his wing, and even teaching him the same method of fighting he taught Daniel. Which as we know from Karate Kid 3, this resulted in Kenny becoming more agro, leading into him literally taking Hawks breath away, even when they were doing a prep match that Hawk wasn’t going all out in. Even when Silver was exposed and Robby was holding Kenny’s fists begging him to stop, bro did not wanna hear any of it, and would use the silver bullet on Robby. We’d see Kenny hesitating after this, but of course Miguel would come in to humble him before Kenny could do anything else. After this, Cobra Kai is seemingly destroyed, with the old students either moving into Miyagi Do, or like Kenny, just staying on their own. Kenny even after Silver's defeat, still was holding onto all this aggression and didn’t really know what to do with himself. Which is why even when Shawn comes back, Kenny wouldn’t even see eye to eye with his own brother due to letting cobra kai take over his mind. It was used as a way to be stronger, but now it’s ultimately changed him into a man he doesn’t want to become. Similarly to Robby, he’d come to this realization and share how he feels to the one part of his family that’s still there, leading to him forgiving himself for everything. After finally redeeming himself for his past actions and not letting the past define him, Kenny is shaping up to be a goat in season 6 and I can’t wait for him to prove himself to the world in the Sekkai Tekkai- wait he doesn’t make it? Now a lot of people are saying because of what went down, Kreese might turn to Kenny and get him on his team, which I can definitely see being the case, especially if he snaps on Lapusso in the tourney and Daniel or Johnny end up yelling at bro. Or it doesn’t even have to be like that, maybe just Kenny wanting to win and willing to go this far is something Robby understands, but he too also wants this badly. This could lead into a really cool final fight between the two, giving us the ultimate student vs mentor matchup. I really hope they just give him something more than “I forgive you Devon :)” like if bro doesn’t get to fight after this then Kenny is just officially sorry.
