CRRC Dalian R&D’s CO₂ air-conditioning system uses carbon dioxide as a natural refrigerant, offering a more sustainable alternative to conventional HFC-based systems. By recovering CO₂ from industrial emissions and reusing it in a closed-loop process, the system helps reduce the carbon footprint of rail transportation.
With its low-carbon design and efficient performance, one train can reduce carbon emissions by around 170 tons over a full overhaul cycle. This innovative technology is another step toward greener and more sustainable urban mobility.
