The Meditating Philosopher | How can we sustain Thumos in our lives? :: One Question with The Stoa :: Layman Pascal @TheMeditatingPhilosopher | Uploaded September 2022 | Updated October 2024, 1 day ago.
Thumos is a construct Plato, Homer, and Proclus (among many others) have incorporated into their philosophies and epic narratives of life, and is often translated as "the spirited part of our soul". The vitality and power of our being is often poorly understood and worth exploring.

In this clip, Layman shares his thoughts on a second Thumos question, sharing his insights and musings on how to extend Thumos once we engage with it in our bodies, psyches, and lives. Layman's full talk is worth listening to if you're interested in this part of our soul/self!
