This new tech helps baseball teams understand how the wind will affect their games. It's called “Weather Applied Metrics,” and it uses computational fluid dynamic modeling and 3D geospatial data to create a replica of the weather conditions inside the ballpark. Starting this season, MLB teams are using it to figure out how weather affected previous games and to help forecast upcoming ones.
