I have been curious about these pastel pencils for over a year so I finally took the plunge and bought a set! amzn.to/3XEHekR These are the Kalour pastel pencils set of 72. I was very impressed with how soft and pigmented they were right out of the box, and more pleased with them when I used them in my artwork. These pencils are sold in sets of:
24: amzn.to/3LClQdD (75 cents each)
50: amzn.to/4obR9cQ (60 cents each)
72: amzn.to/3XEHekR (50 cents each) *Best value!
Pros:
Price
Soft and pigmented
Color variety (there are a few similar reds)
They sharpen well with a knife or sharpener
They resist breaking and crumbling
Opaque
Watersoluble (all pastel pencils are)
Printing is easy to read on the barrels
The tin is nice
They arrived is good condition despite being shipped in a paper mailer. I think the tin protected them well
Included swatch card with color names, numbers, and lightfast ratings*
Non toxic
Cons:
No open stock availability (but they are very similar in feel to Stabilo CarbOthellos if you need a replacement color)
Bottom Line:
I have not been so happy with a pencil purchase in a while. The price and quality are outstanding thed they feel like my other favorite pastel pencils, the CarbOthellos and VanGogh that I can no longer get here in the states. These will integrate nicely wth my other pastel pencils (I have already put them in my rack with the others) and they are a pleasure to use. I highly recommend this set!
