Stoner explains how modern liquid flashing—applied like paint to cure into a seamless rubber membrane—was used to waterproof critical areas like the colonnade without altering its historic aesthetic. They also look at how a depressed entrance drive, originally designed to protect public sightlines, accidentally directed damaging rainwater into the entrance kiosks, prompting the team to introduce subtle trench drains to alleviate the issue and protect the landmark for the future.
