It all started by the arrival of Portuguese explorer ‘Vasco da Gama’ in Calicut on May 20, 1498. He was the first European to reach India by sea which opened a sea route from Europe to the East. After that India became the center of attraction for Europe’s trade and also the ambitions of the European kingdom became wider to grab the Spice Islands trade market which causes many naval battles.
