Jennifer Bryson was an adventurous American student studying Marxism in East Germany in the 1980's. She wasn't a person of faith, and so when an atheist professor told her that the goal of studying philosophy was the pursuit of truth, it completely revolutionized her sense of the meaning of education, and got her asking new questions: about God, about humanity, and about her own purpose.
