Discover how a team of researchers from the University of Hull, University College London, and the Hull York Medical School, funded by BBSRC, used a moving 3D computer model based on the skull and teeth of the New Zealand #reptile, #tuatara, to reveal the interplay between our jaws, muscles, and brain, and how it can prevent damage to #dentalimplants and jaw joints.

The tuatara is a fascinating lizard-like reptile that holds iconic status in New Zealand due to its ancestral ties to the time of the #dinosaurs. With teeth fused to its jaw bone, much like modern dental implants, the tuatara's unique dental structure sheds light on ways to prevent damage to dental implants and jaw joints.

Tune in to this exciting research to learn more about the sophisticated interplay that may lead to more successful #dentalsurgeries.
