Ed Holley coached youth baseball in New York City, where he first crossed paths in 2010 with Kanard Lewis who was a 14-year-old third baseman. After working with Ed, Kanard started to gain confidence, even hitting his first home run. One day, when Kanard's mother faced a health scare, she entrusted Ed to take care of her son, should something happen to her. At StoryCorps, Ed and Kanard reflect on their shared journey and enduring bond. As heard on NPR's "Morning Edition" on March 22, 2024.
