Did you know that Terre Haute has a history with hovercraft enthusiasts from all over the country?
More than just a yearly gathering for the Hoverclub of America, Hoverally 2026 features a special reunion as the group returns to the Indiana town where it was founded 50 years ago. Watch as hovercraft skip across the Wabash River, pilots reunite with old friends, and a community celebrates a shared history of homemade craft and high-powered fans.
Join Kevin Ratermann as he interviews John Thompson, a homemade hovercraft owner from northern Illinois. While other pilots may replace or discard their air cushion vehicles as they start to age, John proceeded to maintain and protect the vehicle he built with his own father back in 1978. Allowing himself and the craft to return 48 years later to another Hoverally in Fairbanks Park.
