Northeast Harris County Shooting (Food City Parking Lot, 5230 Aldine Mail Rte Rd, ~7:50 PM)
Harris County Sheriff's Office (HCSO) responded to reports of shots fired in the 5200 block of Aldine Mail Route Road (near the Food City area). Deputies located a juvenile male (believed to be 16 years old) who had been shot in the neck. No suspects were immediately identified or located. The victim was transported to a hospital by a bystander (who did not know him) in a private vehicle, initially to a nearby facility and then transferred downtown; his condition was reported as serious/critical. Shell casings were recovered at the scene, one vehicle was struck by gunfire (with no injuries to its occupants), and no weapons were found. The investigation remains active with circumstances unclear.
Downtown Houston Apartment Incident (Houston House, 1600 Block of Fannin St, ~10:00 PM)
A neighbor reported blood leaking from an apartment door, prompting Houston Police Department (HPD) and Houston Fire Department (HFD) to force entry. They discovered a woman deceased from a gunshot wound. During a search of the apartment for anyone needing help, officers found an adult man also deceased from apparent gunshot wounds. A firearm was recovered at the scene. No outstanding suspects are being sought, and the investigation (led by homicide detectives) is ongoing. Recent reports indicate this is being treated as a possible murder-suicide, with the female victim identified preliminarily as 24 years old.
