In Chicoutimi, Quebec, the federal minister of Housing and Infrastructure Gregor Robertson, alongside the provincial minister of Housing Karine Boivin Roy, announces that the governments of Canada and Quebec are launching the second phase of their partnership between Build Canada Homes and the Société d’habitation du Québec, which aims to build approximately 2,000 affordable housing units through investments totaling $434 million. The total number of housing units announced under this agreement is now above 2,800. In addition, Minister Robertson revealed that a housing cooperative, La Solidarité, will be established in Jonquière thanks to $6 million in funding from the federal and provincial governments and the City of Saguenay. Minister Robertson is joined by elected officials Yannick Gagnon and Caroline Desrochers.
