The housing market is cooling off, and several states are seeing noticeable drops in home prices. Florida has some of the steepest declines, especially is in South Florida are dropping due to costly new safety rules. Other Florida cities like Tampa, Jacksonville, and Palm Bay are also slipping. Texas is seeing price cuts in major cities like Austin and Dallas, while North Carolina has declines in Charlotte and Raleigh, with Raleigh down 2.2% in the past year. California is slipping slightly too, though not as sharply. High interest rates and growing inventory are pushing values down, creating challenges for sellers but opening doors for financially ready buyers. Overall, the housing market is weakening while the Northeast and Midwest remain steadier.
