They narrowly escape an encounter with Baela and her dragon Moondancer, underscoring Criston's inexperience. Rhaenyra sneaks into King’s Landing disguised as a septon to meet with Alicent. She attempts to negotiate peace, revealing that Alicent misunderstood Viserys' last words about Aegon. Despite being shaken by this revelation, Alicent remains entrenched in the conflict and urges Rhaenyra to leave the city.
